The FBI is asking the public for help in identifying a man seen in an online video engaging in sexually explicit activities with a young boy. The video was reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in 2012 after it was found in the collection of a San Francisco man arrested on child pornography charges.

The man, dubbed "John Doe 28" by the FBI, may not necessarily be linked to the Bay Area, but FBI officials believe he is a U.S. Citizen because he can be heard saying "careful" in the video. By circulating the man's photo, the Bureau hopes someone will come forward to identify him and help find the exploited child.

“Subjects who show their faces in child pornography are not typical,” Special Agent Karen Jurden said in a release. “It is our hope that someone will recognize this individual and come forward. We were able to recover a very clear image of John Doe 28.”

John Doe 28 is described as a Caucasian male in his 30s or 40s with wire-framed glasses and a receding hairline. The video also offers some other identifying details: it reportedly shows the individual and the victim inside a home with a picture hanging over a blue chair, which the FBI hopes someone who spots the image will be familiar with. In the video, the man can be seen sporting a t-shirt with a fish logo.

“We need to identify John Doe 28,” Jurden said, “so we can make sure no harm comes to that little boy.”

Anyone who may recognize the man is encouraged to call the FBI tip-line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

A group of bank robbers the FBI have dubbed the "High Jumper Bandits" is believed to have struck again last week. The crew, who impressed the FBI with their ability to leap over bank counters, is now believed to be behind a rash of robberies in San Francisco and San Mateo counties over the last few months.

The latest robbery took place on Thursday afternoon, when a group described as three men between the ages of 20 and 35 entered a First Republic Bank at 6001 Geary Blvd., brandished at least one handgun, and demanded money from the bank tellers. One bank employee was struck in the head during Thursday's robbery. The suspects wore jackets, gloves. and hats to conceal their identities.

The FBI has now connected the the group's to five separate bank heists since April, four in San Francisco alone. The Wells Fargo Bank at 725 Irving St. was hit on April 19, followed by the Metropolitan Bank at 1351 Powell St. and a Cathay Bank in Millbrae, both on June 3.
A Bank of America at 1007 Taraval St. was robbed on June 6.

San Francisco Police are currently searching for a group of five men and a woman suspected of a string of assaults and robberies that went down around the area of Market and Castro Street's after last weekend's Pink Saturday events. At least one of the suspects was caught on security camera violently kicking a woman in the face. (Warning: video is pretty graphic)

The filmed assault took place around 1:50 a.m. Sunday morning. The victim was robbed and lying on the ground when one suspect turned around and kicked her hard in the head, knocking her unconscious. (Unfortunately, it appears that none of the bystanders in the video did anything at the time.) The suspects also are believed to be responsible for other robberies and assaults in the neighborhood. SFPD has more:

The suspects were described as a group of approximately 5 black males and an adult black female. The group appeared to have been in their late teens or early twenties.

It is believed the suspects committed multiple robberies and assaults after the Pink Saturday event was over. It is also believed there may be other unreported robberies and assaults that were committed by the same suspects in the area of Market Street between Castro Street and Civic Center on the same date and around the same time.

Some of the suspects are already in police custody, but SFPD have requested assistance in identifying them or connecting them to the other unreported robberies.

SF Appeal later reports that two inmates actually escaped. So that means two -- two! -- presumably deplorable teens are at large! Heavens.

No word yet on any description of the kids on the lam. We will updated as soon as we know more about these young rapscallions on the loose.

UPDATE: The two escapees, ages 12 and 16, "used a metal fixture to smash the glass in a 1-foot-by-1-foot window" in their cell, according to the Chronicle. Then they climbed a 20-foot-tall fence adorned with barbed wire and escaped. The boys are not considered high-risk offenders.

The incident happened at around 5:50 p.m. in the 8700 block of MacArthur Boulevard.

"The girl was confronted by a man with a gun and when she tried to run away, she was shot in the buttocks," reports Oakland Tribune. "The gunman fled and the girl was able to run to nearby Youth Uprising center, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening youth leadership."

Scary stuff. All too common as well.

While the girl was hospitalized, she did not suffer any life-threatening injures. In addition to Oakland police conducting an investigation, Crime Stoppers is offering $5,000 for any information leading up to an arrest and conviction.
Police are searching for a white man in his fifties who allegedly posed as a plumber Saturday afternoon to gain access to an apartment near Lake Merritt in Oakland's Chinatown. According to OPD, the man told a woman in the apartment that he was there to check the pipes for leaks and sexually molested a 7-year-old girl while alone with her in another room.

The girl tried to escape and screamed for help, alerting the woman, who is also related the victim. When she confronted the man, he took off on foot and ran out of the apartment complex near the corner of Oak and 10th Streets. Police say the man was seen around the area earlier in the day, but did not enter any other units.

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 50s, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds. He had a skinny build, a white beard and light brown hair. He was last seen wearing jeans, a gray hat and a blue, white and green striped shirt. Both his jeans and hair were splattered with paint.

There is a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the man's arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 510-238-3641 or the tip line at 510-637-0298.

The student reportedly met her assailant in Berkeley and invited him back to the Moraga campus. He then attacked her once inside her room. The assault occurred between 3 and 6:30 a.m.

"This is not an incident where a student or someone else was stalking or lurking on the campus," Saint Mary's spokesman Mike McAlpin explained during a press conference. "This was a betrayal of trust. The young woman invited the man onto the campus with her. Her trust was breached."

So far, not much of a description of the attacker had been released. According to KRON 4 Morning News, he has been only described as a "white man in his 20s."

Jacob Valdiviezo, 19, was walking in front of his home at Bryant near 24th Street early Saturday morning when he was shot and killed after apparently being mistaken for a gang member.

ABC 7 reports:

Neighbor Luis Salinas says he was coming home from a nightclub when he saw a car pull over in front of 2617 Bryant and a man get out.

"There were two guys walking this way,"" Salinas said. "But he only went for one person only, so he just let it roll. He shot em, shot em, shot em, shot em, and took off and that was it."

ABC 7 goes on to note that Valdiviezo graduated with honors from Archbishop Riordan High School and was currently a sophomore at Lewis and Clark University in Portland, Oregon where he was a wide receiver.

The suspects are, of course, still at large. The only description we have so far is that "the shooter got into a grey 4-door sedan after riddling Valdiviezo with bullets.

[UPDATE: Both the car and baby gave been recovered. The baby is in good condition, but has been taken to a nearby hospital for a check up. The alleged suspect is still at large.] A "Hispanic woman with her hair pulled back in bun and carrying a Target bag" allegedly stole a white SUV this morning. The SUV also happened to have an 11-month-old baby inside of it.

The car was parked near Story Road and Jackson Avenue. According to Mercury News, "The mother, who had been going back and forth to load the car at 6:43 a.m., came out of the house to see the car being driven away."

The white JEEP's license plate number is 6BWK440. "It has a spare tire in the back, and some baby stickers are also on the rear of the car, including one of two stick figure babies kissing."

The incident happened around noon on Saturday, March 9.

A male suspect apparently entered the woman's locker room and hid himself inside one of the private shower stalls at the Wellness Center (50 Phelan Avene). According to City College, "Our student victim was in another stall when the suspect climbed underneath and grabbed the victim. The suspect attempted to cover the victim's mouth in an effort to stop the victim from screaming, which was unsuccessful. The victim screamed and struggled with the suspect, who then fled the area."

SFist spoke with CCSF Project Survive's Leslie Simon who told us, "she fought back really hard and was able to avoid being assaulted."

The suspect has been described as a male black, 25-30 years old, 5'11" - 6', 180 lbs, with "black hair and brown complexion." The suspect's clothing is described as dark short pants and black tennis shoes. According to the alert, the suspect was "wearing a towel around his head" at the time of the attack.

Anyone with any information should contact the CCSF Police Department 415-239-3200.
