Sarah Palin, according to yesterday's New York Times, tried to get some morally bankrupt books removed from library shelves when she took office in Alaska as the mayor of Wasilla. Palin, it seems, went so far as to try firing Mary Ellen Emmons, a librarian in Wasilla who dared to resist Palin's vile censoring efforts.

The librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons, pledged to "resist all efforts at censorship,"... Ms. Palin fired Ms. Emmons shortly after taking office but changed course after residents made a strong show of support. Ms. Emmons, who left her job and Wasilla a couple of years later, declined to comment for this article.

Classy. And also: unconstitutional.

Palin is set to take center stage tonight at the Republican National Convention.
