Davenport Beach Teen Identified

The 17-year-old boy who had been reported missing in the water near Davenport Beach early his week has been identified as Dennis Cyncor-McMillan of Los Gatos. According to reports, "[a]round 4 a.m. Monday, Dennis and his 17-year-old friend decided to swim to a pinnacle a short distance out in the rocky cove." After straying from his pal, the Cal Fire, State Parks, U.S. Coast Guard, La Selva Fire Department, a boat, and a helicopter failed to find him. The search has been suspended.

Teen Missing in Waters Near Davenport Beach

The U.S. Coast Guard is looking for a 17-year-old boy who has been reported missing in the water near Davenport Beach early Monday morning. According to officer Nicholas Lajoie, the boy "[t]he boy was with a friend in the water when he tripped and fell." (Brrrrr.) The teen was reported missing at around 4:15 a.m. This comes on the heels of a 30-year-old Santa Clara man who drowned while kite-surfing at Poplar Beach in Half Moon Bay on Sunday afternoon.

29-year-old Anthony Waiters was arrested in Pleasanton on Tuesday for reportedly participating in the torture the 16-year-old Tracy boy, whose case has made national headlines. The four allegedly took part in torturing the boy by beating him, choking him, and keeping him chained to a fireplace or under a table. Waiters joines Michael Schumacher, his wife, Kelly Layne Lau, and the teen's "aunt," Caren Ramirez, who have all been under arrest ever since the teen managed to escape and sought refuge at a local gym.

The final suspect in this week's terrible Tracy child abuse case has been nabbed. Caren Ramirez, 43, was picked up by police at her Berkeley home at around 9:30 p.m. last night. The case has received much media attention ever since a 17-year-old boy escaped from the home of Michael Luther Schumacher, 34, and Kelly Layne Lau, 30, on Monday via "vaulting over an 8-foot wall separating the couple's backyard and the parking lot of the In-Shape Sports Club in Tracy." He was found emaciated, nearly naked, and wearing a chain padlocked to his ankle. Schumacher and his wife, Lau, were arrested on Monday.

After "befriending" a man inside a nearby convenience store, the teen's new friend, identified as Gyasi Terran, followed him to the park and once inside a bathroom, sexually assaulted him.

Young whippersnapper, Santa Cruz resident 18-year-old Matthew Rosenberg, called his mom on Monday to tell her he had "tripped, broke his leg and was lost" in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He was half right. What he didn't tell her was that he was also bombed out of his mind on hallucinogenic mushrooms and a wee bit of acid. Oh yeah, and that he didn't break his leg.

Update: The murdered teen has been identified as Carlos Sousa, Jr.

Police found missing diabetic East Bay teen ("missing," "diabetic," and from the "East Bay" -- ow, that's rough), who also suffers from depression, in "ok" condition this afternoon. Whew. According to NBC11, "ambulance crews pulled [Rosalind "Rosie" Blanckenburg] off a trail at the park at about 1:25 p.m. near Woodhaven and Sinset." No word yet on how she ended up in the park, but for now she is safe and (hopefully) sound. We're sure...

If you remember way back last week, 15-year-old Ichinkhorloo Bayarsaikhan was shot and killed at Washington Park during a botched robbery attempt while kicking it with some friends. The group of boys responsible for her shooting escaped on a bus, but now it seems that some or all of them have been caught. We'll update in the arrests when we know more.

According Eric Thomas from ABC 7, who went into mighty graphic detail about what happened, a suspect was arrested today for the kidnapping and rape of a 17-year-old Palo Alto teen. A press conference is scheduled at noon (now!), where even more details, names will surely unfold. This past Wednesday a teen was kidnapped in Palo Alto, taken to Sunnyvale (on the 500 block of Fair Oaks Avenue), and then sexually assaulted. She survived...
