A new image search function created by SFMOMA makes Google image search look like a service for philistines. Art enthusiasts with some free time on their hands and no one to text are encouraged to send requests for images to SFMOMA's new, still in beta testing, "Send Me SFMOMA" project at 415-796-0446.

The project was created by SFMOMA's Jay Mollica, who sent it along to SFist so more people could test it out. "My role as Creative Technologist involves exploring and interrogating emerging technologies as well as supporting SFMOMA's existing digital platforms," Mollica says. "One of my goals is to bring SFMOMA's collection to the public in new and perhaps unexpected ways, and hopefully encourage further exploration."

Just type "send me ____" asking for anything you please, and you're likely to get an image back with the artist name, title, and date.

You won't find any Matisse images by searching for the artist by name, though — and that's intentional. "Most people search for art by asking for names of familiar artists or artworks, so I made Send Me SFMOMA hoping to provide people with a fun way of discovering artworks they may not have previously known about."

For anyone looking to learn more about what art they're sent, any piece returned by Send Me SFMOMA can also be found on www.sfmoma.org.

How it works: "SFMOMA has an API that includes metadata for over 30,000 artworks in the collection," Mollica explains. "If you've got some technical chops and want to access the API you can visit this URL: https://www.sfmoma.org/api/collection/ for more instructions. A search for keywords "Donald Trump" even turned up an image that reads well as commentary:

We asked Mollica about that one, and he called it "certainly unexpected." HIs explanation: "So as I've mentioned earlier the search is not based on artwork title or artist name. The search is based on descriptive keywords. In this case the word "donald" was found to be part of the descriptive keyword "MacDonald's" so it was a 'match' in that sense. I'm not really interested in causing controversy here, so maybe I should take out that response!"

Sure, you could say this service is still in beta — but you could also claim it's achieved a shocking degree of artificial intelligence, depending on your political persuasion.

The blog Capp Street Crap caught this Craigslist ad in which a Mission-based startup is seeking investors for some kind of sex toy business that they're being a bit cagey about. They say they're looking to develop "a unique line of sex toys that are fun, safe and a new breakthrough in affordability," and they claim to need investors at the $25K minimum level to "to close our $500K USD seed round."

They say they're a "lean company with low burn rate, manufacturing real products people will love."

I really want to know what these products are, but, for obvious reasons, they're not getting into details because they don't want to tip off the competition.

Does this sound legit? Do you want to invest in these new "human sexuality products"?

As Capp Street Crap quips, "Meanwhile, Good Vibrations, which made sex toys mainstream more than three decades ago, opened today, as they do every day, at 10 a.m."

From 4 p.m. to midnight on Monday, April 23, members of OccupySF will rally in front of the Wells Fargo building at California and Montgomery. According to a press release, it's attempt to "[p]ut a spotlight on issues that affect us all: Foreclosure Fighters, Students, the LGBT Community, Feminists, Anti-War activists, Immigrants, Prison Abolitionists, Environmental/Sustainability Folks, and Workers." Then, the following day, at 10am, members will gather Justin Herman Plaza and march to the shareholders' meeting at the Merchants Exchange Building at 465 California Street.

Unless you live under a massive rock, or simply don't care for baseball, you know by now that the San Francisco Giants won the NL West championship on Sunday, and it was awesome. While your editor couldn't make it to the game or anywhere near Mission Bay, photographer Frankie Frankeny (of Frankeny Images) and fashion editor Chloe Harris (at StyleBistro) watched today's game from inside AT&T Park's Public House, snapping a few shots of the action after the Giants clinched it.

Here are some of their photos, as well as a few AP images for good measure. (Frankeny even snapped a shot of Traci Des Jardins, Public House and Mijita's renowned chef, who, along with her son, took in the game while sporting panda rally hats.)

Despite the God-like powers of Mayor Gavin Newsom's bedroom eyes, large hands, and gravelly voice that managed to woo Terry Childs to handover the passwords to City Hall's system, administrators are still having trouble accessing some parts of the network, or so says Network World. Admins, it seems, are "still locked out of the city's VoIP system and LANs within the Sheriff's Department and the Recreation & Park Department." Zoinks.

Also, Terry Childs, who held the city's networks hostage, is allegedly a wee bit bonkers. In addition to spending time in juvie for aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary charges, NW reports that a "court also ordered Childs to stay away from several of his former co-workers, including Jeana Pieralde, [a] DTIS director of security who was allegedly so afraid of Childs that she locked herself in a room in [a] data center." Oh my.

We just received the following alert from a reader. Very tragic:

Suicide in Union Square, jumped off building, blocks closed off, assorted people freaking out...super fucked. My guy was walking down to that area and saw some block(s) around O'Farrell and Powell closed off and cops everywhere. Ambulance folk huddled around what is presumably a body. And (shudder) at least one person sobbing into a cell phone saying (correctly) that it's the most horrible thing she's ever seen.

The only thing we can confirm is that there was a suicide at the H&M building this afternoon. More info as it comes in.

hey I wanted to let you know that my friend [name removed to protect dancer] is doing a modern ballet duet on friday at noon in the lobby of MOMA. It is kind of a guerilla performance - no approval from the museum, no music, no lighting - just two people dancing around in public while innocent bystanders go, what the #@*k?
