Hey, remember that Question Time thingy? You know, that non-binding measure that voters passed which called for Gavin to appear in front of the Board of Supes and answer questions thrown his way while the rest of us get to kick back and watch the fun? Well, if you remember, Gavin kind of refused to do it and instead staged fake Question Time, "Town Hall" meetings throughout the city and wound up killing any sort of conflict over the issue by basically boring everyone to death. Even the chickens got bored and stopped attending. ...

Last week's winner, the deceptive SF Weekly. Letters abound, either outraged by the fake Barry Bonds story or entertained by the elk. Why don't the negative letters have the names of the authors? Are you now questioning all the journalism you read in the Weekly now, or did you just think it was a good joke? Matt Smith says Gavin Newsom is supporting a cult. No, not the cult of Gavin, though no doubt Gavin......

Gavin Newsom, why won't you just do a Question Time before the Board of Supervisors? Was it not enough to force all those citizens into renting chicken suits and drag all those innocent bloggers out at obscenely early hours on the weekends (read: 10 a.m.), just because you've unilaterally decided you don't like to take unscripted questions? Was it really worth it? Now just look what you've made Question Time originator Chris Daly do! That's......

Okay, we'll admit it. San Francisco local politics as of late has been, shall we say, BORING. Boring boring boring boring. No shouting matches, no chicken suits, no revelations from either underage drinkers or hyphenated-named wives of best friends -- it's been slim pickings. So how excited are we to hear that the simmering cauldron of rage that is the Gavin Newsom-Chris Daly rivalry is heating up!!!! YES!!!!!! So, according to Left in SF:......

Thanks for everyone's help in the 4FQT comments on fixing the light levels on our pictures from Gavin's 4th Fake Question Time townhall meeting! As readers suggested, we downloaded the Gimp (we're too cheap to shell out for Photoshop) and tried to figure out what exactly fixing a "logarithmic color curve" entails. We still don't know, so we basically just played around with a bunch of features and retouched the pictures as seen here.......

You could tell Mayor Gavin Newsom came in expecting the full costumed brigade this morning at Fourth Fake Question Time-- we definitely saw Gavin flinch when SFist Elaine saw him coming into the Excelsior Boys and Girls Club right at 2 p.m.. this morning and shouted out, "Holler!" -- but it was as chicken-free as a lunch at Cafe Gratitude, for the latest installment of Gavin Newsom's town hall meeting, this one on the......

Don't forget, the next Fake Question Time (or, as we call it around here: FQT4) is this Saturday, April 21 at the Boys and Girls Club in Excelsior (163 London Street, x Excelsior Ave, one block off Mission). The meeting starts at 2 p.m. (not the usual 10 or 11 a.m.) and the topic is Kids and Families. Gee, you think Gavin'll let people ask questions this time? Drinks are on us if he......

Uno, dos, tres, quatro!: the mayor's office has announced the fourth installment of his traveling lecture series, or, as he prefers to call it "the town hall open meeting where the public is not actually permitted to ask direct questions." Or -- as we prefer to call it -- FOURTH FAKE QUESTION TIME!!! Guess Gavin's still not going to do Actual Question Time before the Board of Supervisors, huh? Were all those sweet words......

After a break of a few weeks, Gavin Watch is back with a launch party and a spiffy new web site. They already have some great content up already, mainly a video of Gavin at Fake Question Time II trying to reach an audience of mainly African Americans who live in the Bayview by trying to "talk black." Thankfully, the words " fo' shizzle my nizzle" were not spoken, but, well, check it out....

Gavin Newsom was all raspy voice and bulletproof hair at last night at Cesar Chavez Elementary in the Mission. Despite somebody's command to "Go back to Nob Hill!" Gavin asserted "I'm not going away." He's used that phrase a couple times now. Is that your campaign slogan, homie? We hope not, because you're not exactly the underdog. It's almost April and you still don't have an opponent. ...

Our feelings regarding the sneaky scheduling of Gavin Newsom’s Third Fake Question Time this Monday can best be expressed through American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee’s latest single, “Over It.” The purple halter dress she wears in this video is pretty cute, too. However, just because we're over it doesn't mean we're not secretly putting together a special Fake Question Time ensemble in the hopes of running into some chick dating some dude (not to......

Man, we can't believe Team Newsom scheduled Third Fake Question Time at the last minute like that -- your Political Junkie is out on vacation so we can't make it to the Cesar Chavez Elementary School on Monday the 26th at 6 p.m. to discuss health care with the residents of District 9. (825 Shotwell (between South Van Ness and Folsom, cross street 22nd). Man, and we were hoping to see Han Shin and......

Late word: What? Gavin Newsom lied to us! At the last Fake Question Time, Gavin clearly told us that the next "town hall meeting" would be in April and address the issue of crime in District 5. So color us surprised when we start hearing word on Monday that Third Fake Question Time is going to be next Monday, March 26, at Cesar Chavez Elementary in District 9 on health care. (note: there's a......

It's a real picture!!!!! Or so says the Bay Guardian, of this fabulous photograph of Mayor Gavin Newsom posing in what looks like a pink kimono ceremonial Korean hanbok with the man he's successfully gotten a restraining order against, the obsessed Han Shin. Man, we can't even get Gavin to answer our question at the First Fake Question Time, but he'll just let anyone come up to him and give him clothes to wear??? You......

From yesterday's Chronicle article about Newsom stalker Han Shin: Inside [Shin's car], police found a map of San Francisco with the location of the mayor's building highlighted and a line following streets from the building to the Bay Bridge. Also found were a cutout composite photograph of the mayor, Shin and Shin's father, magazines with articles about Newsom, a laminated photograph of Newsom, three purple latex gloves and a cassette tape titled "President Newsom." Now,......

All the political junkies in town know that David Latterman and Rich DeLeon's cogent analyses of the current local political scene are statistically sound, politically astute, and so cannily call the upcoming trends that it's a little frightening how accurate they are -- but we love them the most for their gorgeous maps! The map to your right (from this analysis) is the percentage of people ranking more than one choice in the supervisorial races......

As reported, Jennifer Siebel sported a weird houndstooth coat at the Second Fake Question Time. At first glance, we figured that maybe the coat wasn't so bad. We love us some houndstooth. However, closer examination confirmed that, yes, Ms. Siebel made a fashion misstep. But who hasn't, right? ...

Hey, does anyone know what the mayor of San Francisco's up to? --M&R report that Gavin has been attending rehab sessions every day this last week -- some as individual sessions with the head of Delancey Street, and some as group sessions, and his community service will take the form of activities he was already doing as mayor. We come back from Second Fake Question Time and.... WHERE'S GAVINWATCH???? Emails to the anonymous blogger/videohounds' gmail account were bouncing, their YouTubes clips were gone, and their website had crashed. What th---? As you can see, the pouring rain was wreaking havoc on Gavin Newsom's carefully-styled coif this morning at the Second Fake Question Time townhall meeting in District 10's Bayview district. We arrived at the Whitney Young Child Development Center at the tail end of an angry pre-game protest about how the mayor's office has neglected the Bayview, and we were also too late to get any of the complimentary lanyards that the MUNI information......

Well, this sounds like fun! A reader who went to yesterday's live taping of the NPR news game show "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" writes in to report that the game show's "special guest" of the day was none other than our favorite newspaper editor, Phil Bronstein! Many of the topics were centered around San Francisco: Gavin's boozing and sexcapades, and the Armory's new porn studio. It was hysterical. The ChronBlogs did a little research......

Here's the good news: there really isn't any news. Then again, who would know in the midst of the wall-to-wall Anna Nicole coverage? Oh, there was a staff shakeup and Gavin made a joke, but there really is nothing out there. No earth-shaking revelation, no new story of Gavin's lonely life living a Frank Sinatra tune, no clash with reporters. We guess that'll happen tomorrow for Fake Question Time II. That should be fun. ...
