Artist Creates 'Wanted' Poster For Mission Rapist

Local artist Rich Black created a poster featuring his own rendering of SFPD's sketch of the Mission Rapist, who is believed to still be at large. The suspect, who is wanted for at least two brutal sexual assaults, is described as a black man in his mid 30s between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall with a medium build. The FBI has reportedly been brought in, which leads people to wonder whether there are a lot more cases involved.

Black has also used the poster to bring awareness to the fact that there have been 20 reported rapes in the Mission and 135 in San Francisco this year.

Cheap Pete's Will Do Your Noise Pop Posters Right

Instead of letting your collectible Noise Pop poster fade in the corner for a year, like we did, head on over to Cheap Pete's for a "quick fit" to last a lifetime.

This past Valentine's Day morning, we went to CP's at the last minute with the intention of doing the matting and framing ourselves for like $30 (yeah, right!) as a gift for our sweetheart, who is a member of one of the bands on the poster.

Resigning ourselves to the fact that the frame alone cost about twice what we were aiming for, we put ourselves in Jeffrey's magical hands. He immediately envisioned using a die-cut matte to mimic the shape of the graphic, and he got it done by the end of the day, saving our butts and making us the best V-Day gift-giver ever.

Also for the first time ever, our home feels like it's being occupied by real adults, who appreciate the power of custom framing, and Lil Tuffy.

David Beckham's gargantuan Armani underwear poster splattered against the side of the Macy's building to much acclaim yesterday. "Just in time for gay-wedding gift shopping," declares Gawker, here are some shots of the man's monstrous, 100% cotton-sheathed unit as it's being unleashed to the hungry masses below.

Oh, and Becks was also on-hand to sign some autographs to a few lucky fans. Sadly, there was no sign of Posh/Posh Spice/Victoria Beckham in the crowd. Alas.

This is possibly the most ballsy example of reverse-psychology advertising we've ever seen. (With the possible exception of their "memento mori, Vawanda" campaign a few months ago.) You've got a rolling billboard at your disposal and you want to get the word out about your impending release, so what do you do? You blast your customers with the message that . Genius!

And let's say, hypothetically, that someday there actually is some kind of working system called TransLink. Do you think Muni will take down the posters? As we've seen, they have a bit of a problem with posters that are waaaaay out-of-date. Another jorb well done, Muni! We wonder if anyone actually paid to have those posters put up. Other than, you know, all of us.

When he's not busy keeping it real or putting in a couple of loads at the laundromat -- he looks like a Biz kind of guy, doesn't he? -- Gavin Newsom is out pandering to the boomers for their vote. (Something we assumed he had in the bag.) Behold, the psychedelic Gavin Newsom for Mayor poster. This one, which was for a re-election benefit held in the Haight-Ashbury this past week, was sent to Beth Spotswood, saved for her by one of her "fans," it seems.

Seeing as how it's re-election time, we wish that there were more creative(ish) posters like this plastered around the city. (Are we even allowed to perform said plastering anymore in our quality-of-life era?) Do you have one? Or four? If you have any Photoshopping skills whatsoever, you should. Send it out way, please.
