Oh, this is rich. Flickr photog extraordinaire The Inadvertent Gardener snapped this shot. While taking a shot of a rain-soaked BART train, she inadvertently (heh) captured an angry man's middle finger. She explains what went down.

I was going for a rainy day shot of an approaching BART train. It wasn't until I downloaded the photo onto my computer that I realized the guy walking away from me on the platform was flicking me off. Maybe it makes me a total child, but I think that is completely hilarious.

Scene From an Early Morning Oakland Manhunt

Holy smokes. After an early morning shooting over at the Davis-Coit Apartments in downtown Oakland, which resulted in one arrest with one suspect at-large, this was the scene from inside the apartment of SFist reader EllyMental's girlfriend. EM tells us:

[T]hought you might be interested in a pic my gf took this morning from inside her job in Oakland. It appears the fuzz raided a house that was the scene a 3am shooting last night ... Gotta love downtown Oaktown.

Yikes. Seeing an image like this at the crack of dawn morning looks more effective than and a double espresso and a quick couple of fat rails. Well, almost.

At the risk of stepping on Blocker's toes, SFist James spends much of his time on the infamous Stevenson Street (near Market) near Civic Cente, and he's taken some images with his phone over the past week. So, here are a few of his curious images (not to mention totally NSFW ones, so don't go into hysterics when you come to the shot of daytime fallatio) for your viewing interest -- you know, just in case there are some of you out there who still think that SF homeless residents (or at-risk residents, provided some of the people in these shots do, in fact, have somewhere to call home) are treated better than SF residents with homes and jobs. Which they aren't.

Anyway, here you go.

This natural-color image of Northern California was captured on June 26, 2008, by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite. Places where MODIS detected active fires are outlined in red. Thick smoke hangs over the Sacramento Valley, although the city of Redding is visible for the first time in several days.

Good for you, Redding. You have something to be proud of now!

Citizen SF snapped up this bit of automotive gold. And holy smokes! You'll never guess who was driving this, "The ~~first~~ Lexus LS 600h L hybrid luxury sedan to arrive in San Francisco."

We'll give you a hint: she looks like Jennifer Siebel only less smarmy yet a bit more shiny. And she's irresistibly whimsical. And practically perfect in every way. Can you guess?
