SFGate's 'Scavenger' came up with the above handy Google map, denoting the 20 northern California cities with the highest unemployment rates. While it's not a joyous thing to behold, it is interesting to see where we're at right now in the state. The top spots went to #5: Madera (18.5% unemployment), #4: Salinas (18.7%), #3: Yuba City (19.2%), #2: Ceres (19.2%), and #1: Watsonville (24%).

Just in time for your post holiday meltdown, The fine folks over at The Sword have conveniently packaged together a Google map (NSFW!) of public and semi-public locations that have been used as backdrops in some of your favorite homosexual pornographic films. From dingy SoMa bars to glorious Dolores Park, check out who possibly spread their seed all over the bar stool from where you order your frozen Cosmopolitans.

Every once in awhile, SFist likes to get out of our pajamas and take the SFist show on the road. So we pick up our trusty laptop and head on out to go work at a coffee shop. There's one we especially like to go to-- it's small, extremely cute and cozy, and has plenty of outlets for everyone to plug in. There's only one problem, though, and that even at like two in the afternoon, they're usually too full for us to get a table. And so we go to another place only to discover that they too are completely full. It's two in the afternoon, doesn't anybody have jobs?
