SFist has taken it upon ourselves to give this age-old idea a local slant.

We found today's photos back in 2002 at the Berkeley flea market. It's been a few years since we've been there. Does anyone know if the 50-something Chinese man still runs his tiny booth there? He had boxes of amazingly funny photos from estate sales that you could haggle with him over.

We love all of the detail in these photos. The bridal hat, the make-up, the Ford Escort with New York plates, the hands at the right-hand edge of the photo that are barely noticeable, and of course, the reluctant-looking bride.

This gem was found by SFist reader Robert last Friday in the Mission on Julian between 15th and 16th St. Says Robert, " How demanding a note this is, not even a please or thank you! sheesh." Well, that's better than this one neighbor we had a few years back, whom we overheard on the phone through our window well, yelling, "F*ck you, Mom!"

Today's find is a very intense and forlorn love letter found by SFist reader Jeff Webb. Here's his description about the find from his blog:

I found this love letter in an old Grateful Dead Family Album book I bought for a buck either at a garage sale in the Haight, or a flea market in downtown San Francisco many years ago. I've kept the book all this time because of this letter, even tho the book is in horrible condition. There's even oil stains on the letter. Anyway, there is no other information in the book, nothing else written, just the letter. I'm reminded to finally scan this after seeing this SFist post. Special thanks to Captian Disco for sending us this link to an auction on eBay of a photo album containing photos from San Quentin circa 1932, including mug shots, suicide photos, and a track and field event. The auction ends tomorrow.

Today's two featured lists were each separately found on the sidewalk near Hayes Valley about three or four years ago. The grocery list was at Hayes and Buchanan, and we honestly couldn't tell you the exact location of the "Reason for Blockages" find.
