Jeb Bush doesn't understand how hoodies work. And for some reason, Jeb Bush believes, apparently, that publicly demonstrating his lack of understanding of hoodies with a SF-based tech company schwag hoodie will somehow benefit him in the polls.

When the younger Bush brother came to San Francisco last July, the presidential hopeful made a concerted effort to show plugged-in San Franciscans that he, too, understood the disruptive power of technology. This manifested in predictable ways, such as when he hailed an Uber on his way to visit SF-based Thumbtack.

He also, it seems, took advantage of the classic tech-job perk: the free branded hoodie.

And then someone in his campaign office posted this horribly awkward video of the man who wants us to trust him with the nuclear launch codes to YouTube.

Fast forward to this past Monday, and you end up with the above Vine depicting the once Governor of Florida struggling to pull a fully zipped Thumbtack-branded hoodie over his head.

We here at SFist would like to take a moment to suggest that the potential next President of the United States investigate the disruptive technology of zippers. We hear they make getting in and out of clothes a lot easier.

Amid this Monday swamp of owl starvation, Arizona rampage, and Dolores Park shooting, a silver lining shines through: Tom DeLay, former House majority leader during our country's darkest period, was sentenced to three years in jail today "for his role in a scheme to illegally funnel corporate money to Texas candidates in 2002."

For his part, DeLay doesn't see what he did wrong. According to AP, he "repeated his longstanding claims that the prosecution was politically motivated and that he never intended to break the law." That is to say, he thinks he was setup, see.

"I can't be remorseful for something I don't think I did," DeLay said. Aw.

The Age of Obama may have us feeling too complacent and like it's all going to work out now, but isn't it about time this person removes the sign from their window that says "Troops Home by Christmas?" America's favorite high boot-wearing, Brahms-playing, weapons of mass destruction-hunting Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, is returning to the Bay Area. According to an interview in campus newsletter Stanford Report, Rice will teach political science at Stanford University. "I've always assumed I would come back to Stanford,'' said Rice. "It really seemed like the logical choice for me.'' Condi served as provost before signing a deal with the Devil to serve with the Bush administration in exchange for an eternally youthful glow. Rice goes on to say she loves "going over to the houses or the dorms and having dinner and having a question-and-answer session [with students] afterward." (Word is that he was given an award for courage in Libya.) Also, according to Tim Redmond over at SFBG, just after tossing his heels, Muntader al-Zaidi had the proverbial crap kicked out of him.

Iraqi security forces have beaten him pretty badly -- they "kicked him and beat him until he was crying like a woman,” said Mohammed Taher, a reporter for Afaq, a television station owned by the Dawa Party. You can hear him howling on the YouTube video; it's almost painful to listen.

While saying it's dead wrong to throw anything at a president, Redmond goes on to suggest that we "call on Bush to ask the prime minister of Iraq to pardon Muntader al-Zaidi" (which, really, would be a much-needed gentlemanly gesture on Bush's part.) And we agree, but only because anyone who provides such top-notch entertainment should be pardoned.

Pickering was worried yesterday that they might not qualify since there was a spot check of 500 of their signatures. But that's normal since the process works like this: the power that be test 500 random signatures against the voter files. Based on said raw count, if no more than 143 of the 500 signatures (28%) are thrown out, you automatically qualify for the ballot. And: ta-da! Also, according to Wayne, "we turned in 11,999 signatures, of which 11,041 were counted in the official raw count. We need 7,168 signatures from SF voters to qualify, so we went in with over 50% more than we needed."

Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: "Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided." We have an obligation to call this what it is — the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.

You think this is funny, why don’t you go and do something that is worth while instead of making a mockery of our President. If you don’t like this country then get the FUCK OUT. Wayne Pickering, chairman of the unofficial "Presidential Memorial Commission of San Francisco--like an "intestinal bug on a Carnival cruise ship." So far Wonkette and the Washington Post caught wind of it. A FOX interview is in the works, which is set to air tomorrow.

Before the commission's baptism by FOX, we asked Pickering (not his real name, we should mention) a few questions about his plans for getting the initiative on the November ballot. Here's what he said about his efforts at changing the name of the San Francisco poop plant, Bush's greatest moment over the last eight years, and more.

Aside from the obvious, what sparked the decision change the name of the sewage plant?
It all started at a bar. We were discussing how to pay tribute to George W Bush. Regardless of where you are on the political spectrum, you have to agree that the magnitude of his accomplishments must be remembered. We picked the sewage plant because Bush's greatest legacy, apart from the Global War on Terror, is his attention to the nation's infrastructure, such as the levee system that protected New Orleans so well during Hurricane Katrina.

And how do you plan on doing this?
We are submitting an ordinance initiative for the November ballot. If it passes by a simple majority, the facility will be renamed on Inauguration Day.

In effort to beef up our anti-Republican credibility--while helping diminish San Francisco's continually creepy anti-Hillary sentiment--here were have a delightful and much needed anti-McCain video. It's brimming with biting satire, cinematic parody, and information on our impending (current?) recession. We found it over at Cubed. (Thanks, guys. Now we know for sure we'll never be able to land that sweet One South Park pad. Sigh.)
