The rumors are confirmed! Supervisor Chris Daly has indeed grown a mustache. That's good progress on the handlebar we were suggesting, Chris!

Don't worry, folks, we have word that he's shaving it off soon.

We went to our very first Ross Mirkarimi Third Friday art show yesterday, and had a very nice time -- loved the eggnog! We also picked up the following piece of gossip: Chris Daly is growing a mustache.

Our source reported that Chris has shaved off his goatee but left a lush growth of hair underneath the nose. Our source was either serious or joking (we're not entirely sure which) when he said that Chris was saying it was going to be his version of Gavin with the hair gel.

Chris -- if you're going to grow out the mustache -- dude, you gotta grow it out in a handlebar!!! We've envisioned what this might look like in the picture to your left. ....Or grow it out like the leather man in the Village People! ....Or have you considered muttonchops? Here's a complete list of your facial hair options.

Aw, come on, Chris, you know you want to do it. Grow it out really long so you can twirl it around your finger like Snidely Whiplash when you ask Gavin Newsom a tough question during Question Time!! (You'll have plenty of time to get it grown out really long before Gavin ever shows up.)

We're baaaaaack! (Did you think we'd ever left?) Well, we've moved on to relentlessly houding Gavin Newsom to show up for Question Time and we're also starting to gear up to cover the 2007 Mayoral Election -- but you all know we've still got a special place in our heart for the District 6 election that was.

So what's the latest? Well, it's the moment we election geeks have all been waiting for -- local political site The Usual Suspects has its report from political scientist David Latterman of Fall Line Analytics summarizing how the District 6 election went down, precinct by precinct.
