We have news of another local food business that's expanding to the big new mixed-used development at Mission Rock, across the cove from Oracle Park, and this time it's the cocktail-world-famous Trick Dog.

Quik Dog, the fast-food-inspired pop-up business that the Mission District's Trick Dog opened to offer delivery and takeout hot dogs, "dog burgers," and chicken nuggets during the pandemic, is going to get a second location next year, which is being dubbed the "new flagship" of Quik Dog. As the team announced on Instagram and in a press release, Quik Dog will be opening on the ground floor of The Canyon, one of the new buildings in the Mission Rock development, at the corner of Third Street and China Basin Park.

The team further says they're "super excited" to make the announcement, and more updates are still to come.

The Canyon is one of four new buildings in the development being overseen by Tishman Speyer, and backed by the San Francisco Giants — on what was formerly the stadium's parking lot property. Each of the fourt buildings was designed by a different architect, but they were meant to be "in conversation" with one another. In total, the development includes two office towers, and two residential towers — one of which is being designed by MIRA architect Jeanne Gang.

As SFist reported over the summer, the development is also getting an outpost of croissant specialist bakery Arsicault. At the time, the only other retail spaces that had signed leases attached were Blades Co. Barbershop, Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, the gym LuxFit, and grab-and-go soup-and-sandwich spot Proper Foods.

The new flagship Quik Dog will reportedly have a full bar — presumably inspired by Trick Dog offerings — and will offer Quik Dog's menu of Mission dogs, dog burgers, veggie dogs and burgers, chicken and veggie nuggets, fries, and the Trick Dog classic chopped kale salad.

The Mission Rock complex, and these food and beverage businesses, are expected to open in mid-2024.
