The Chronicle called Ed Jew's office today, and his legislative aide Barbara Meskunas said he wasn't in because he was sleeping. Jet lag, you know.
According to the Chron, Tapioca Ed, did, however, have the time to pen an essay for the Sunset Beacon (which has not yet put Jew's essay online, but you can read last month's), in which he says he wants to "clear the air" about the allegations. In the essay, he says he now lives on 28th Avenue with his family. (yes, the one that the neighbors say has been vacant for years.) And that Burlingame house that everyone sees him in? Oh, no no no no no! That house is "a gathering place for [his wife's] side of the family on weekends and holidays." Pesky in-laws!
Jew concludes by saying, "I believe in our country's system of laws and know that the truth will come out about all of the matters you've read about in the papers recently." He plans to meet with his lawyer later today about the residency requirement paperwork he has to submit, once he wakes up and gets himself to City Hall. Does he take the MUNI or 101?

That's a lot of money to spend on a "gathering place for inlaws" on weekends and holidays. It is not too far from the house I grew up in, and it is a nice house!
But hey, who am I to judge? Maybe he just doesn't like popcorn chicken.
Now if only I could get some confirmation on the news Ed's been talkin' about the N Judah (i.e. that it will be back to ending at the Caltrain Depot), that would be news!
"Ed Jew never sleeps, he waits"
N Judah route change isn't news - the Driver (Conductor? Pilot?) announced that the other morning as we were waiting to get into the tunnel!
Uhh. Right Ed. Whatever you say.
Has anyone been keeping their eyes on the Sunset house watching for moving trucks? My guess is one or two have pulled up in the last couple of days or will be very soon.
I don't wanna call the guy a liar but . . .
Yeah, like we all don't have extra houses for parties with the in-laws.
whats this about the N schedule changing now? does this mean the j is going back to embarcadero also or both?
you'd think muni would have a better place to announce route changes than in a comments thread about ed jew on sfist
I wonder if it's hard to sleep with all the faucets turned on full blast...
hiya folks-
ed jew is my best friend, and yes, he does stay at my house all the time. our sons are best friends also. i think we have the same viewpoints on most things. jonell is my wife.
hope this clears some things up.
all the best!
peter
WTF are you all twatting on about the N for? Get a cab!
Wait, "the Muni?" It's just Muni. This isn't LA.
It's a little-known fact that Muni doesn't go anywhere near Burlingame! If he feels like slumming it on public trans, Ed Jew almost definitely takes BART from Millbrae to Civic Center.
R, I think that was the point... whether he takes Muni (lives in the City) or 101 (lives in Burlingame).
