It's Memorial Day, so it must be time for Carnaval! The two-day multicultural festival on 17th and Harrison, filled with big headdresses, drums, and tasty-smelling food! (note to self: is our car parked near there? Better move it.) This year's theme is LOVE HAPPENS, and, as you can see in the above YouTube clip, this year's Carnaval King and Queen can really shake it!

It's an action-packed two days: Saturday is the festival, with seven stages of live music, samba and salsa classes, the aforementioned delicious-smelling food, and hey: you can meet two Golden State Warriors if you like -- Mickael Pietrus and Matt Barnes -- from 2-5 p.m. at the NBA Nation booth. (If you get there earlier, they'll also have the Warrior Girls, and you can shoot some hoops and try out the latest basketball videogames too.)

Sunday is of course, the day of the big parade! Starting at 9:30, march up Mission with the samba drums all going and the fabulous feathery outfits and the tricked-out cars -- don't forget your whistle! At the festival, Los Lonely Boys are playing around 4, and the NBA's bringing Golden State legend Rick Barry from 2-3 p.m.
