Victoria Traina is So Haute Right Now

Socialite Rank awarded Victoria Traina "Chic of the Week" for the Christian Lacroix Haute Couture dress she wore to the opening of the Vivienne Westwood exhibition at the de Young Museum. She also made Vogue's 10 Best Dressed this week on Style.com. Congrats, bitch!

Most of us would look like we were wearing a trash bag in this dress, but Victoria pulls it off with her usual panache. The SR reader comments weren't too kind, but we don't care; we give homegirl props for always taking a risk and expressing her personal style. And we can't get over how cute she looks with her new bangs.

Yes, that is Vanessa Traina pictured bottom right, wearing the Prince/Prada runway/Ashley Olsen-inspired black turban we're still not feelin'. Oh, well. At least she doesn't bore us.

My S.O. dragged me away from the computer long enough to get to the de Young museum to see the Vivienne Westwood's "collection".

1) The de Young was freaky crowded, especially right at the Westwood exhibition. Next time we'll go during the week, when it will just be us versus the (few, uninformed) tourists.

2) Half the Westwood collection would be right at home fitted on S.F.'s homeless population (it's hard to believe torn jeans & torn t-shirts were still so fashionable well into the 90's).

Expensive and hot off the runway or not, the best fashion is that which flatters you. This does not flatter her (nor would it flatter anyone -- some runway looks are best left on the runway).

I have the EXACT same dress in hefty bag!

Sorry, I don't care WHAT Vougue says. That dress is ugly. It's not flattering on her AT ALL! The only one I ever saw pull it off with style is a California Grape.
